Happily Ever After.

Our Favourite Part of the Day:
On Monday we had centres and read a story.
On Tuesday we did writing and had snack.
On Wednesday we had calendar and centres
On Thursday we learned about Sadie Seal and played outside.
On Friday Danna did her show and tell and we danced.

Happily Ever After:
We learned that stories have a beginning, middle and end. Then we sequenced stories.

Colours:
We started a colours unit today. We learned about the primary colours (red, blue and yellow). I told them that primary colours can make other colours but we cannot make primary colours. We practiced reading these words and played games. Next week we will be learning about secondary colours and we will experiment with colour mixing. It is going to be fun!
French:
In French this month we will be learning about colours. This week we learned about rouge (red), bleu (blue) and jaune (yellow).

Remembrance Day:
We read "A Poppy is to Remember" by: Heather Patterson. I showed them my poppy and told them that it is for us to remember that we don't want to fight and that people fought to make us free and have peace. We made our own poppies to wear and completed a few art projects.

Writing:
We continued using the ABC chart this week and wrote about our favourite things to do in the snow and our favourite foods.

Animated Literacy:
On Tuesday we drew a top.

On Thursday we learned about Sadie Seal who likes to surf and swim.

Handwriting Without Tears
This week we learned how to write uppercase letters C, O, Q and G. These letters are called "Magic C Letters" because they are all made with a C. We will be reviewing these letters next week and the "Magic C" will reappear when we learn how to write lowercase letters.

At home you can practice writing the letters that we have learned so far. For information on the teaching order and how to form the letters using the same language please go to their website:
