Math
I have been using the Guiding Kinders Math Lessons from Deanna Jump to teach many of the numeracy concepts this year. This month I used Unit 4 and we played the following games to learn about ordering numbers as well as more and less. You can find the unit here.
Missing Number:
We laid the cards out in the order. One person would take a card and hide it while their partner's eyes were closed. Then the partner would try to figure out what card was missing.
Match Me Plus 1:
One child will pick a card and build it on one side of the mat. Then their partner will build another set plus 1 more on the other side of the mat.
Match Me Minus 1:
One child will pick a card and build it on one side of the mat. Then their partner will build another set minus 1 more on the other side of the mat.

Mix it-Fix it-Flip it:
First a child will mix up all of the cards with the number side showing. Then their partner will fix it by putting them in order from 1 to 10. Then the first child will flip the cards over so that the dots are showing. The partner will mix it and then the game continues.

Handwriting Without Tears
We have begun learning about lowercase letters. We learned about Magic C letters. These are letters that start out as a c but change into another letter: c, o, s, a, d and g. We also learned how to write v, w and t. Continue practicing lowercase and uppercase letters at home.
For information on the order that I will be teaching letters please go to their website: http://www.hwtears.com/hwt/why-it-works/teaching-order
